Career Fairs
- November 9, 2005
To get involved with this career fair, or for more
information, contact the consortium at
sbeconline.
These special events are typically held to allow students to meet with post-secondary
educators, employers and employees, or human resource professionals to
learn about education and work opportunities. Career day activities are
designed to help students think about their interest and abilities in relation
to potential careers.
Careers On Wheels
(Links to businesses that would participate in a
Careers On Wheels Day.)
All employers that have businesses that use wheels to get around are invited
in to present hands-on skills needed to have a career in their field.
Job Shadowing for Teachers - Provides opportunities for students or educators
to explore an industry or company to develop their knowledge or workplace
skill requirements.
Contextual Projects
(Mini-Grants) - Provides opportunities for instructors to plan a project that will connect
business and education so students can see that their education will help
them in a future career. This gives the students the opportunity to apply
their education to a real life situation.
Work-Study - Students
alternate or coordinate their high school or post-secondary studies with
a job in a field related to their academic or occupational objectives.
Articulation Agreements
-
Seamless education provides a student the option of moving from one school
to another without loss of credit and without replicating or duplication
of classes and skills.
WorkKeys Assessments -
This assessment measures students academic abilities against those required
in real world employment situations.
Classroom Presenters
